Those with dry skin, such as myself, will understand that it has its pros and cons. On one hand, we’re blessed with a clearer complexion due to a lack of oil production. On the other, we age easily as it’s difficult to keep our skin hydrated and prevent wrinkles from forming.
Today, I want to share with you the products I swear by for dry skin. Not only do they keep my skin smooth and even – that is, clear of dry patches – but they’re also all fairly affordable and easily found, making them staples in my routine. I’m sure you’re aware that anything skin related whatsoever needs to be suited to your skin type for it to have any benefit, and to have you looking your best. So, my dry skinned friends, look no further – here is your go-to list of products!

Microfibre Cloths

Cleansers are not always the most gentle option when it comes to removing makeup and cleaning your skin. Many of them leave my skin feeling stripped, dry and tight. This is why I really love using microfibre cloths to remove my makeup: it’s quick and easy, requires only water, and means that I don’t have to scrub at my skin with an abrasive foaming cleanser. The ones I’m currently using are from Primark, and cost £4 for a pack of 3. I would definitely consider this a good price; I used to use Face Halos, and whilst I still really like them there’s no denying that the price tag attached is a bit extortionate. These Primark cloths are soft and gentle, and come in my favourite colours. If you don’t have a Primark near you, you can always purchase microfibre cloths from another brand, such as The Makeup Eraser.
REN ‘Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream’

I remember when my aunt first sent me a deluxe size of this product in the post after I complained to her about how sensitive my skin is, and I’ve loved it ever since. It’s very calming, very gentle and very moisturising. It’s actually vegan, which is always a good sign, and it protects against the daily pollution of a city.
The Ordinary ‘Serum Foundation’

I already mentioned this foundation in my ‘How to find your Perfect Foundation’ post, and I’m still loving it all these months later. It’s just so lightweight, hydrating, and yet, somehow, full coverage. It has SPF 15 – perfect for protecting dry skin from further ageing – and is a bargain at around £5 a bottle. It’s long lasting and provides the most beautiful, airbrushed finish to my dry skin.
Real Techniques ‘Miracle Complexion Sponge’

I’ve been raving about this sponge since I started my first blog, way back in 2015. It’s really that good. I think that foundation application is always going to look best on dry skin when done using a sponge, and this sponge in particular is just fabulous. It’s soft and springy, and I love the flat edge to bounce my foundation into my skin. You will always get a flawless and dewy finish with this sponge, especially compared to the flaking and streaks which regular brushes tend to provide when used on dry skin.
Kiko Milano ‘Velvet Passion’ Matte Lipstick

I’m a matte lipstick lover, but liquid lipsticks can sometimes get horribly crusty on my already dry lips. These lipsticks from Kiko Milano are honestly a godsend. Creamy, pigmented and hydrating, but also matte enough to flatter my lip shape. I’ve bought so many of these over the years, and every time I wear one I’m reminded why I love them so much. If you’re dry-skinned and looking for something that isn’t sheer and glossy to keep your lips in check, this is the perfect product to try.
That’s it for my round up of products suited to dry skin. Do you have any you would recommend? Have you tried any of these?
